"Really Easy Bidding" by Sandra Landy is the definitive book on the Standard English bidding system. It also provides a sound foundation for playing bridge at the highest levels. Anyone learning bridge from an EBU trained teacher should be learning this system. Moreover it is sufficiently consistent with the Acol that was taught 25 years ago that anyone that can play this system is in a good position to play with almost any Acol player. This is the basic reference book that should be owned by anyone that is serious about learning Acol. Whenever you have a bidding problem use this book to look up what should have happened. When you hardly ever need it are you ready to move on. |

"Really Easy Modern Acol " by Sandra Landy builds on the methods of those in Really Easy Bidding. If you plan to play competitively get this book and study it carefully. But be warned: once you advance beyond the basic level of Acol there are few standards. To play most of the methods and conventions in this book you need to buy two copies: one for yourself and another for your bridge partner.
